ATHERTON- In an exciting match against Menlo College, the UC Santa Cruz women's soccer team emerged victorious with a final score of 2-1.

UC Santa Cruz dominated the match, recording a total of 12 shots to Menlo's 5. The Banana Slugs displayed their offensive abilities while maintaining a solid defensive line to secure the victory.
The Banana Slugs displayed their prowess on the field with an early goal in the 20th minute.
Chelyn Ackerman secured the lead, her fourth goal of the season coming on an amazing shot from outside the box that landed in the upper corner. Goalkeeper
Makenna Curtis made key saves in the first half to hold the 1-0 lead until half time.

Menlo tied it up in the second half but the Banana Slugs fought back with
Amanda Scott sealing the win with 15 minutes left on her 3rd goal of the season. Her short-range strike was expertly set up by the combination play of
Amaya Espardinez and
Camille Anneet, showcasing the team's exceptional teamwork and skill.

With this win, UC Santa Cruz has improved their season record to an impressive 4-2-2 with their third straight win. The Banana Slugs return home to face Lincoln on Tuesday September 26th.
