UCSC drops home game to Cal Lutheran

The UC Santa Cruz women's soccer team took a hard loss on Sunday the 26th. Cal Lutheran took home the win 3-0 and are now 5-3-1 this season. Their three goals were by Elissa Scott in the 9th minute and Isabella Veljacic who had two goals for the Thousand Oaks players well into the game at the 67th and 74th minute mark. Both of these forwards were assisted by their teammate Alexandra Fagerberg. 

Substitute Amanda Scott led the UCSC attack with four shots, including 2 shots on goal. Rainie Dabbs also had a pair of shots.

Overall, Lutheran took 15 shots on the UCSC goal, 2 of which goalkeeper Alyssa Diaz-Tucker managed to save, and substitute goalkeeper Samantha Coelho had two saves in relief. UC Santa Cruz had 0 corner kicks while Cal Lutheran had 4. 

Cal Lutheran historically leads the series 21-12 with 2 draws, but Santa Cruz will have its chance again next year to create a new story in this rivalry.
