Women's Soccer falls in season-opener at Pomona.

CLAREMONT- UC Santa Cruz dropped a 4-0 decision to Pomona-Pitzer in the season opener for both schools.

The Sagehens opened scoring in the 13th minute when they pounced on a rebound, and added two more goals in the first half. Sophomore Jamie Floyd had UCSC's best chance in the 34th minute on the restart after Pomona's second goal.

The young Banana Slugs had four freshmen and just one senior in their starting eleven. 

Goalkeeper Malia Starita had three saves in the game, while Alyssa Diaz-Tucker had five saves in relief.

The Banana Slugs finish their weekend with a Sunday game at La Verne.
